The Sailor Compass USA 50 States Bottled Ink series gives a unique shade to each of the 50 states, inspired by their history and nature. Sold individually. Choose between Pennsylvania (Blue Grey), New Jersey (Yellow), and Delaware (Fuchsia). Pennsylvania ink was inspired by the gray tones of the state’s well known steel industry. New Jersey ink was developed to reflect the bright, joyful, yellow color worn by the New Jersey state bird, the goldfinch. Delaware ink was inspired by the vibrate magenta state flower, the Peach Blossom. Specifications: Each bottle contains 20 ml of water-based dye ink. Specifically formulated to be safe and gentle for all fountain pens. The Sailor Pen Company was founded by the engineer Kyugoro Sakata, after a sailor friend gifted him a fountain pen from England. Fascinated by the instrument, he became determined to produce the first fountain pens in Japan. Mr. Sakata named his company “Sailor” with the hopes that his business would be as far-reaching as the voyages of a sailor. Years later, every Sailor pen is still manufactured in its home port of Hiroshima, and remains one of the oldest manufacturers in the industry.
